Lemon was first cultivated in the Mediterranean regions and historians believe that lemon is present since 1st century A.D. The word ‘lemon’ is said to be inspired and derived from an Asian word for ‘sour fruit’. In the olden ages, lemons were a rarity and hence were treated as precious commodities. Kings used to gift lemons to other kings as presents and Victorian people used to grow lemon trees in their homes as a status symbol and dditionally also for the citrus fragrance. Organic lemons also have bleaching and colouring properties. Ladies used lemon juice to stain their lips during the Renaissance era. Even now if you apply organic lemon juice to your hair daily for a week, you can have highlighted hair just like that!
